What if….
What if no one shows up because I suck talking LIVE into the camera of my smartphone?
Does anyone out there (90% English speakers) feel like listening to a non-native speaker with English as a second language (to be honest, Latin is my second, English was my third ^^ I'm not kidding)
And then… 80 (!) people showed up to our collaborative LIVE VIDEO session YAY!—freaking bonkers.
DARE to go LIVE. Don’t dim your light. You deserve to be seen and your message to be told.
We talked for the better part of an hour. It’s addictive.
Some Quick Substack Live Video Tips
turn the volume down.
exercise before you go LIVE to hold the smartphone for 60 min haha (or use a tripod^^)
do some stretching later
if you don’t wanna see you face, put a post-it note on your phone
check the chat and say HELLO to people joining and/or commenting
check your settings and background in case you’ll walk around. Maybe there are things (naked hubby^^, maybe you’re at work, or in the supermarket showing people in the background., crying kids, you name it…) you don’t want to show.
you don’t have to send an email to your subs for your first time :) I didn’t send you an email. I will when my lives are better ^^ though
practice makes perfect… there are some cringe-worthy moments where I’m struggling with my English… some bloopers I’d delete when sharing a video on my YouTube channel
you could use merch. My hubby and part-time YouTuber Patrick God (70,000 subs) is using fourthwall
