That’s wild! We were just talking about it and you were right now all these features are coming to Substack

This is useful news, and I can absolutely see why a lot of Substack writers are excited about it.

Being able to tag subscribers, build segments, and send more selectively inside Substack itself is a real step forward. The part that stands out most to me is not the feature itself so much as the behavioral unlock: publishing more without feeling like you are carpet-bombing your entire list every time.

That matters.

At the same time, I think the honest read is probably a little more measured than “everything changes.” This feels less like total replacement territory and more like Substack getting meaningfully closer to being a true all-in-one platform for more creators. For some people, that may eventually make Kit unnecessary. For others, especially those running more complex automations, Substack is clearly gaining ground but not fully there yet.

Still, this is the kind of feature release that changes how people will think about their publication rhythm, audience targeting, and tool stack. That is not small.

I think the typewriter and confetti was an April fools day thing because it was just there for that 1 day then gone again! 😅

I like it! I think my first segment out would be the engaged readers for sure.
