“Two systems handle retrieval. FishDB surfaces posts from your connections and followers, but only within a strict 30-day window. This is an architectural constraint.”
Great question! Relevance signals matter a lot - so keyword alignment between your content and what someone's searching for, engagement velocity (how quickly a post gets interactions after publishing), and your connection's engagement history with your content. LinkedIn also weighs creator authority in a topic area, so consistent posting on a theme helps. Dwell time is underrated too - how long people actually stop on your post, not just whether they click like.
I appreciate decoding the algorithm but my LI profile is about my professional IT and I am trying so desperately to leave that industry and all the sycophantic ladder climbers behind. Not sure what to do with a 25 year IT career profile except ignore it.
I used to be very active on LinkedIn but got frustrated that it wasn’t growing my business, although I made a number of friends in the community. I’ll definitely have to check it out now!
Awesome thanks! I’ll be signing up for the Notes one that you’re doing. I think that would be the most beneficial! And I can see from all the testimonials, how much success you’ve had helping others!

This was insightful, I didn't know this.
Helpful article! What affects retrieval, other than the age of the post?

I really hope this provides a transparent practical explanation for people who have been confused as to why their posts have been struggling
