This was an exciting read-- full of good advice and encouragement.

I'm glad I saw it. THAT was truly lucky.

*I'm also grateful for the advice of posting ever other week and will be adjusting that.*

Merry meet.

One thing I’ll say about my cadence is that I think this is just what my readers have come to expect. I tried two weeks of posting every other day and it drove away a lot of people. I had established a sort of contract with my readers that I wouldn’t overload their inboxes. Other writers have established a tactic contract that they’ll provide news to them daily. It all depends

That's impressive. I was also offered a book deal based on my YouTube channel, but back then, I knew I couldn't make it writing a book with two kids in just 6 months. I'm curious about Hachette and their deadline, Jeremy. What were the deadlines? Thanks

Yes mine was 18 months to deliver the book

Think so too. Some have hard others soft deadlines and as you know... the sound, the whoosh... is something I learn to like ^^ at least when I need to push a deadline

You think the Substack was just content, but reading this it was really a portfolio that removed risk for the publisher.

Open rates, engagement, audience overlap turned your writing into something they could underwrite instead of guess at.

The piece that feels fresh is how you balanced feeding the newsletter while protecting the best material for the book itself.

When the output behind the attention is a real product (book, course, whatever), the whole thing starts returning both cash and the freedom to go deeper instead of just louder.

Solid example of playing the long game without pretending luck is passive.

Amen to this, CP! "playing the long game without pretending luck is passive" YOu can put yourself in a position of luck. Not just with Substack and going from reader to writer but life in general. It's not passive, it's active ... serendipity also plays a huge role. Just recently I met an old friend... on an island and was like... OMG what are you doing HERE?

Your Journey is a wonderful read. It shows your talent and your ability to reach out and make Substack a rich environment to explore what is possible

We can all learn from Jeremy that our Substack can REALLY become our #1 platform and also work as proof for our awesomeness and that people actually want to spend some time with us. How's your client business going, Karen? Loved you shared some are already telling you they are reading your newsletter. Same here. I have now also so many German Brands on my list :)))

You find the best guests! My business is slowly coming back, encouraging me to work on my free Substack. It's growing steadily. At the moment, I'm building it and figuring out how to increase the number of free subscribers. My monetization efforts have been unsuccessful so far.

How exciting to have German brands! I love your enthusiasm, and you continue to come up with different angles to help people on Substack. I also continue to learn from you. I don't have extra money yet, but when I do, I will sign up for some bootcamps you are offering. I realize I need mentoring when it comes to monetization. Your enthusiasm is infectious, and you are a wonderful mentor

Wonderful to hear. You sum up what my intention with the guest posts and my podcast is. Showing you it's not easy, we all know this, but it's possible and and doable. Wishing you a lovely day and thanks for sharing this
