I wanted to share my “Hype and Brand Yourself” video series via Substack Chat but then found out the maximum lenght of a video is…
300 seconds = 5 minutes 🤣
I love short and sweet.
In fact I’ve been sharing short form and minimalist writing since December 2020.
Here’s the proof:
However, since I added some personal anecdotes and more details here and there, my video was too long for chat.
Thanks for letting me in your inbox
I don’t want to bombard you with emails, I know your inbox is a special place and I’m thankful you let me in.
So this time I’ll be sharing a long form video with you.
Starting tomorrow it will be via the chat without a promotion from my side, meaning you won’t get an email.
All you have to do then is to check the chat and watch my videos.
Paid subscriber will get premium episodes (plus access to the school, community, coachings, live sessions e.g. with Ayo next week).
Let me help you get paid to be you
It’s an experiment based on the questions and feedback I receive every day:
Since I’m building this newsletter community part-time, I only can coach a handful of people of my tribe but I want you to see results too.
All you need to do is take inspir-ACTION.
It can be a flop, it can also help you see the value that’s inside my Online Writing School because my goal is to reach 200 members by the end of July 2024 which I can help kickstart, grow and monetize their writing.
If you say:
Kristina, I’d love to join your community, to support you and I trust the process!
Then upgrade to become a members of our school.
I’ve done the recordings for the course “Medium School” for future Medium superstars.
I’m in the middle of updating and adding modules to “The Substack School” for futre Substack superstars.
Feel free to share your feedback with me!
What do you think about the short and sweet “Hype and brand yourself” video series. Is it helpful?
Is sharing the videos via chat a good idea?
What questions do you have re becoming your own product and brand manager?
You deserve to get paid to be you, be seen and heard.
All the best,
P.S. Liked it? Could you do me a favor and like and re-stack my post? This way you help a solo writing business owner to be seen and heard and help more people like you. Thanks so much!
P.S.S. Don’t forget to share the impact of the network effect on your Substack newsletter! You can hit reply or restack with a note. Hugs!
P.S.S. Who is this girl? Why can she tell me something about hyping and marketing my writing, book. newsletter? Check out my about.
Just signed up for this. Really looking forward to learning some more.
Ahhh Freya. Now I see your message. 👍 Did this video make you sign up? ✅
Will you attend our live on Wednesday?
Would be wonderful
Yes, it is what swayed me! :-)
Hi Kristina! I’d like to learn how to hype myself.
Thanks, Penny
Hi Penny! 👋💞
That's the right address.
It's a series which I'll share with my subscribers plus extra insights inside my writing group (Online Writing School)
On Wednesday we also have a live session with Ayo from Medium. He also learned how to hype himself because no one will do it for us.
Thank you for breaking the network analytics down! I've been here for 11 months and had no idea what all that data meant. So thank you, this video was so helpful 💕I also ghosted my previous email list. I'm not proud of it, but that was before Substack. Since I've been on this platform, I can report no ghosting has happened 🥳 what is worse, unlike you, I never told my precious subscribers I'm moving to Substack, so I'm not sure how I can rectify this now. However, despite Gmail making it easy to unsubscribe, they still stick with me. What are your thoughts?
Hi Jana 👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻 ah I guess you read my post on Notes then lol.
Guilty of ghosting my list.
They'll be happy to hear from you, is my lessons learned ^^ so go for it.
To make it easy for everyone I'd send like 4 emails telling them you've moved to Substack and they can come with you.
Tell them they can unsubscribe any time.
Then add all that are left to Substack.
I bet some would be happy to pay you :) if they already know you from a few years back haha... but don't come with an offer right away...
this turns them off. I know someone from our school tried it and failed miserably.
Fingers crossed and keep me posted.
How many are on the list?
Thanks, Kristina. That’s a great recommendation. I will try the four-email method. I am not sure about paying; I’ve not turned the pay on yet. My growth seems kinda slow because I’ve changed my publication multiple times.
Fabulous series, Kristina — I’m excited to hear you’re going to do one about how to use Notes.
Hi Elizabeth,
we'll cover multiple ways to be seen more and also collaborate with other Substack writers, see our Substack as a product we can grow and brand :)
We'll also cover Notes. I jusr recording the session about guest posts and cross-posts which I also think is important.
Next up is Notes and some other ideas :)
Thanks sooooo much for your feedback, I wanted to challenge myself to share my unedited videos because it takes a lot of time to edit them. That's why I just wanted to go "live" for a few days and share some important tools, backend info and marketing ideas with you since I know so many want to hype themselves a bit more, but feel overwhelmed.
Thanks a lot!! and also thanks for being a paid member 💗💗💗💗
You’re welcome, but I wouldn’t be a paid member if I didn’t think I was getting excellent value — you always overdeliver.
oh and if you have any specific questions or wishes, let me know.
I'll share the videos here and inside the school
Hi Kristina, I had a question. If you bring people from other places on the internet to subscribe to your substack newsletter, do they have to join Substack to subscribe to your newsletter?
Great question, Dave.
Here's what I know:
You can import susbcribers from other places/platforms by uploading a csv or simply copy pasting their email adresses.
You'll then see the number of new subscribers in your graph.
Often some email adresses will get skipped if they are invalid. So you should check the csv file for errors.
Once they are subscriber they get your email.
I know you could also send them a welcome email.
Also do I know that they can open my emails but I also wonder to like and leave a comment wheter they are promopted to create an´account then.
I asked Subsatck's tech support and will get back to you as soon as I know.
Great question!!
Hi Dave,
When you import subscribers, they will then have a Substack account. Free subscribers do not need to login in order to view your posts, but they will be prompted to login and set up their profiles in order to like and/or comment.
I hope this helps clear things up! Please let me know if you have any follow-up questions.
Hugs,
Kristina
That makes sense, thanks. Just curious; how to try out your Substack school?
Hi Dave, oh super easy. I hear it a lot. I need to promote it more 😆
Every paid subscriber also gets access to Substack School 🎒
You get a link from me to our community, live sessions, replays etc... just give it a try ❤️ hugs, Kristina
Sounds great, thank you.
This weekend I have a special bonus. Every annual subscriber gets Maya Sayvanova's Fiverr Launcher to learn more about freelancing on Fiverr. More bonuses to come ❤️
Kristina, I reported this comment because it is from a hacker on What's App.
