I recall Neil Diamond stating in the liner notes to his album, Serenade: "I'd like to think I have twenty to thirty more productive years left." And he did. I like to think the same.
Here's to those of us who opt for self-expression and service to others as way of life in retirement.
Barry, I do think continuing to do something you love (although I have no empirical evidence for this) has to contribute to a remaining "productive." (I'd rather use the word "fulfilled.") This ain't like football, where your knees are shot and your shoulders grind like a sander. All we need is the awe and wonder of the world. Which, i hope you find on a daily basis!
