Thank you for sharing this—it’s really insightful. I’ve been on a bit of a different journey. I spent a long time writing and storing my manuscripts before I began publishing on Amazon in December 2025. Since then, I’ve been publishing consistently because I have a lot of content built over time, while still continuing to write.
Recently, I joined Substack, Instagram, and Medium to begin connecting more and establishing my voice. I’m still very much in the learning phase—this is only my second month navigating these platforms. Sometimes it feels like I’m a small eagle learning how to fly—but I’m learning step by step.

Great tips Gunnar! I published my book in December of 2025 and wasn’t active at all on LinkedIn at the time. What tips do you recommend for authors like me who missed the “behind the scenes” window?
