Sohrab, born in a village near Noor, lost his mother shortly after birth and grew up in a male-dominated society where women were oppressed and married off young. Sohrab's mother faced emotional abuse for not conceiving quickly and resorted to a prayer-writer to become pregnant, but died during childbirth, leaving Sohrab without parental love. Sohrab's father remarried quickly, favoring his new son Reza, while Sohrab was neglected and mistreated by his stepmother Soghra. Sohrab experienced loneliness and abuse, labeled as cursed by Soghra, and was ostracized by villagers, including his brother Reza. Despite the abuse, Sohrab loved Reza and tried to help him when he was hurt, but was punished by Soghra, leading to further isolation. Sohrab found solace in a mysterious old woman who appeared to him, offering comfort and encouraging him to talk to God for help. After being severely beaten by his father, Sohrab was locked in a storeroom without food or water, where the old woman reappeared, sharing bread and dates with him. Sohrab began talking to God, finding peace and comfort in the conversations, which became a lifelong practice. A month later, a kind woman named Yelda arrived, offering to take Sohrab away from his abusive home, becoming his guardian and providing him with a new life. Yelda took Sohrab to the hospital for his injured arm and then to her home, where he felt safe and cared for, experiencing kindness and attention for the first time. Sohrab was welcomed by Yelda's daughter Mahyaya, who treated him like a brother, and he was given his own room, marking a significant change in Sohrab's new life.
