I'm a pub owner and boost nominator on Medium and one thing I never hear anyone talk about is the "wash" of boosted v non-boosted articles. Sure, it's great to be boosted. But if you're not, you'll make even less than before the boost program kicked in. A boosted story can get you 10x the income on a story that has the same number of views/reads than an unboosted story. It's not about the views. So it's basically a wash. No one is talking about this and it's frustrating.
I have found articles complaining about reduced earnings for those without a boost. I haven't been boosted over, so I'm currently earning under 10$ a month. But it makes sense this would happen.
I don’t have a Medium sub. Have I totally missed the boat? Is it too late to build over there? I’ve been hearing such mixed opinions.
