Kristina - do you pay for Grammerly or use the free version? I use free and wondering if paid is worth it.

Hey Melissa. If you are not a native speaker, then it is a gamble. However, in my line of work, I have found that Premium or Free does not find all the mistakes and on the contrary, it sometimes points out non-existent mistakes. So, I would say around 30% to 40% of the time it fails on both ends. You have got to have an eye for detecting mistakes either way. I usually use Premium just to help me find potential mistakes quicker. There are more reliable products available, but they are more pricey.

Hi Melissa, last week I became a paid member. I think it's worth it (as a non-native) but as you can see from the example from Ben, also as a native it's smart.

Alshough my Grammarly was CRYING all the time when I copy pastes Ben's stories and tweaked it a little. Ben has a very unique style. But you can skip suggestions and then happily go with your style, ideas and words you love.

I'll add Grammarly to the resource bank inside the membership and share a tech stack so you knwo what I pay for and use.

Hey Kristina, at this point I don't recommend using Grammarly for native or non-native English speakers. As I have already explained above. Style is one thing, but being grammatically correct is a totally different thing and can hinder your professional image. I love Grammarly for my reasons provided above, but it is not reliable enough to fully trust it. You need to know grammar, sentence structure, cohesion, coherence, and lexical resource, etc. Also, Grammarly often disregards context.
